Chemotherapy has different side effects as according to the different chemotherapy treatments. There is a great possibility of hair loss after the treatment of chemotherapy as hairs are one form of protein in the body. Nails and reproductive cells and organs contain other sensitive form of proteins. Chemicals do affect the proteins and carbohydrates related parts whether for short or long time. There is a chance that hair may re-grow after the chemotherapy treatment.

It is very much possible that after the completion of chemotherapy, the hair may starts to grow. It is also possible that the color of the hair may change. This hair loss is for all body parts not only the head. Some times it takes effect at the start of treatment and some time it is seen at the end of chemotherapy. It is sad to know that there is no medicine available today which can prevent hair loss during and after chemotherapy. It is advised that any cancer patient, who is getting chemotherapy, should take care of his / her hair during and after treatment of chemotherapy. Use of soft combs and brushes, and mild shampoo’s can provide little help to the hairs which are left. If the color of hair changes, than light chemical color dyes should be used as heavy chemicals can destroy the left over.

It is also good to try a wig or go for an artificial hair plantation in order to have a good look after chemotherapy. Hair loss may cause a great damage to physical look of a person. Hairs at the head are the basic part of physical personality. Hair loss can cause lack of confidence in people during meetings. It is also believe that hair loss is not caused by all chemotherapies. It is important to go for such chemotherapy which prevents hair loss. The people with hair sensitivity should always ask their doctors for such chemotherapy which prevent hair from loss. In near future, it may be possible that any kind of chemotherapy is hair loss free.

Scientists are working hard in order to find out the medicine to cure hair loss with chemotherapy. Some special projects are underway which may produce a drug to prevent hair loss or an upgraded form of chemotherapy with fewer side effects. Until that happen, people having hair loss due to chemotherapy should try caps, scarf’s, and wigs in order to hide the hair loss. If there is no harm to the head skin an artificial hair transplant can be a good choice. If chemotherapy only damages few hairs than short hair style should be made, light shampoos should be used and more over hot water should be used to make the hair soft and thick.
