Colon Cancer Treatment
There are many different types of cancer due to which it is difficult to find a key treatment which is effective against all cancer types. Moreover this treatment should be side effect free. There are large numbers of side effects of these treatments than to the original problem. It’s same like standing in a problem with getting another ready. It is very important that a side effect treatment should be carefully completed along with the chemotherapy. Colon cancer creates big problems for patients as it effects the digestion and it’s difficult to eat and digest. This produce extreme weakness and huge weight loss in the patients.

Colon is an important part of body. Its function is with digestive system of the body. Digestive system digest the food material by taking useful, important and needy elements like vitamins, proteins, minerals, and water and removing all waste material from the body. Digestive system consists of esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines. Large intestine is very important part of the digestive system. Its first 6 feet are called colon. Due to cancer in the colon digestive system become unstable and digestion process cannot fully complete. Colon cancer can be developed in the body due to acidic situations and non hygienic food material. There is always a risk of getting colon cancer with the people more than 50 years old. Personal and family history should be checked in order to find out the risk factor for this type of cancer.

Anybody with the history of ulcer, crohn disease, and familial adenomatous polyposis can have a high risk of involving in colon cancer. It is difficult to find out colon cancer at early stage. There are some symptoms by which it can be checked regularly. Blood in stool, diarrhea, frequent gas pains, weight loss for no known reason, feeling tired and vomiting are some of the symptoms which should be clearly tested. Tests like examination of rectum, rectal tissue, and some blood tests are used to find out about the colon cancer. There are some proposed tests like fecal occult blood test, digital rectal exam, physical examination, barium enema, and sigmoidoscopy should be conducted in order to find out about colon cancer and its position.

Sigmoidoscopy is a procedure to look inside the abnormal areas of lower colon. Sigmoidoscope is a thin tube, inserted through the rectum, with alight and lens for viewing. It can also remove some tissue of cells so which can be tested. Biopsy of these tissues and cells can provide a result about the presence of cancer. In this type of cancer there is good number of chances of a recovery which depends on stage of the cancer, cancer hole in the colon, and on patient’s general health. There is a similar treatment chances, depending on the health condition and stage of the cancer. Another treatment for colon cancer is called virtual colonoscopy. It makes some pictures of colon by which the cancer can be seen. This test is also called as colonography.
